• TENSPACE in the Short North is hosting the national soda brand “Ollipop” for an experiential pop-up from Sat., May 7-Thurs., June 30. Visitors can enjoy a soda bar, 10-ft long rainbow straws, and scented rooms.🥤 (614now)

• The Food Truck Depot in Delaware is opening The Swimming Hen, a southern comfort food truck, on Tues., June 14. The truck will specialize in fried chicken + also offer dishes like collard greens and cornbread. Keep up with their social media to see which spots they’ll be headed to. 🍗 (614now) 

Biz

• New Albany acquired 1,689 acres of land in Jersey Township during Tuesday’s city council meeting, with 900 acres being used for the Intel factories. During the meeting, the land was also rezoned to a technology manufacturing district. (Columbus Business First)

Closing 

• Joey Chang’s Restaurant, a popular Chinese and Thai spot, is closing in July. The restaurant is located at 3799 Ridge Mill Dr. in Hilliard and will remain open seven days a week until they close, with their Sunday brunch from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. 🥠 (614now) 

Concert 

• Shawn Mendes, Keith Urban, and The Who are coming to The Schottenstein Center this year, and this is the best week to snag tickets. It is Live Nation’s Concert Week, which means you can receive $25 tickets to each of these shows through Tues., May 10.

• The Moonlight Market, Sunlight Market, and Pearl Market are starting again soon at the Markets at Pearl downtown. Browse local vendors and enjoy live music + food trucks at Pearl Alley & Gay Street. The first market weekend is Sat., May 14-Sun., May 15.

Cause

• The Ohio State Day of Giving was on Tues., May 3, and $24,714,258 was raised for student scholarships + to work towards the goal of students graduating debt-free. If you missed it, you can still add to the 20,000+ gifts that were donated and make your own gift. 

Edu

• On Thurs., May 5 at 10 a.m., City Council President Shannon Hardin, Mayor Andrew Ginther, and other community leaders will provide updates on the program The Columbus Promise at Mitchell Hall. The program aims to provide tuition-free education at Columbus State Community College for Columbus City Schools seniors. ✏️
• Ohio State athletes will now be able to earn money for their academic performance. NCAA rules allow student athletes to earn up to $5,980 per academic year for full-time students who are in “good academic standing with the university.” A specific grade-point-average is not required. • As the Columbus Blue Jackets season has come to an end, “Jackets Insider” Jeff Svoboda has broken down all the CBJ facts and stats from the year. Most notably, the Jackets had 12 different players score at least 10 goals, which tied the franchise record. 🏒
