Happy hour in this Short North spot is Monday-Friday from 4-6 p.m. with half-priced draft beer, cocktails, and wine by the glass.

Columbus’ second annual Paddlefest is back on Sat., July 30 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at Darby Bend Lakes in Hilliard. This free event provides use of 60+ different boats. Try your hand at kayaking, paddle boarding, or canoeing for a family-friendly day on the water. 🛶(614now)

The Ohio Eggfest, a grilling festival dedicated to the Big Green Egg ceramic grill, is happening on Sat., July 30 from 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. in Obetz. The cookoff will provide grilled, smoked, and barbecued food + enjoy live music, stand-up comedy performances, and live cooking demos. 🍖 (614now)

The Shawn Mendes concert that was scheduled for Tues., Oct. 18 at The Schottenstein Center has been canceled. Tickets will be refunded within 30 days, and no rescheduled concert date has been announced as Shawn decided to cancel his tour.

The Downtown Commission will consider adding three outdoor-access public restrooms at its Tuesday meeting. The restrooms — which are planned for the corners of Long and High Street, Lynn and High Street, and Broad and 3rd Street — would be constructed and maintained by Capital Crossroads, including three cleanings per day. 🚽 (Columbus Business First)
Development -
Columbus City Council approved Kelly Cos. to redevelop the Diehl-Whittaker Funeral Home into a mixed-use development. The 720 E. Long St. spot will be converted into 90 apartment units, 5,000+ sqft of commercial space + 1,500 sqft of underground commercial space, potentially to become a jazz club. 🏢 (Columbus Business First)

Big Ten Media Day for Ohio State football was yesterday + head coach Ryan Day expressed dissatisfaction with the 2021 season. “Our goal every year is to beat the Team Up North and win the Big Ten championship and win the national championship, and we didn't get those things last year.” 🏈 (The Columbus Dispatch)
Environment -
The City of Columbus is helping college students recycle as they move out of summer housing. Students can recycle items in bins placed throughout the University District starting Sat., July 30.
